Venue: The Recreation Ground in St Mary Bourne. We have 3 separate pitches we can use for under 9-teams – there are also nets and a pavilion (with WC), a shop open until 3pm, a pub and a public WC… which hopefully meet the needs of most teams/players/spectators. There is limited car parking at the rec ground – it is possible that we will also be able to use additional parking space on the field behind the cricket club (run by the SMB bowls club). There is also some parking at the surgery (just across the lake from the cricket pitch). However, to avoid major congestion in a relatively small village, any smart car sharing would be encouraged.
Timings: We propose that teams arrive at 12pm to settle in and warm up, we would then have a huddle for coaches/managers at 12.20 before getting the first matches underway at 12.30pm. Ideally we like to start the final round of matches at around 5.30pm, with a view to concluding at 6.15 – at which point we can have a short presentation and everyone can enjoy a barbecue – which we will aim to be up and running from around 4.30pm onwards (we’d need everyone to pay for their food and drinks but prices are very reasonable).
